A blog is an area in a website in which items (typically text and pictures) are posted on a regular basis and displayed in chronological(or reverse) order. A blog usually has links to comments on specific postings. The term blog is a shortened form of weblog or web log. Authoring a blog, maintaining a blog or adding an article to an existing blog is called "blogging" . A blog is usually about a user’s personal experiences(“My first outdoor concert”), while a forum is a general topic for discussion (“Why outdoor concerts are great”).
1. Go to the MashCast Navigation block on the top left of the page*
2. click on create content link
3. click on the blog entry link in center of the page.
4. Type the title or subject of your blog entry int the Title field.
5. Type or paste your blog entry into the Body field. You can customize your text by using the WYSIWYG Rich-Text Editor(click on the link that says enable rich-text) or put HTML tags in your copy.Use of basic HTML tags is permitted, but some may not be available. You can click More information about formatting options to find out about using HTML tags to customize your blog entry.
6. If you want to attach a file(you can attach files with the following extensions:jpg,jpeg, gif, png, txt, html, doc, xls, pdf, ppt, pps), select it by using the Browse button in the Attachments section of the form or type its path(such as C:\mydocs\pics\me.jpg ) and pressing the Attach button.
7. The Comment settings link allows you to choose whether readers can comment or not. By default this is set to Read/Write.
8. Press Preview to see how your blog will appear before actually posting it. If you need to you can edit your entry before posting, or if its ready to go, press Submit to post it.
9. You can use the URL path settings field to specify an alternate path for users to find your content. This is an option, and is not required.
10. The optional** Voting link allows you to choose whether readers can vote on and rank your blog. You can choose to enable or disable voting by clicking on the Enabled or Disabled radio button. This feature is disabled by default.
*If you are not registered or not logged in, the User login block will be in this area. Once you are registered and logged in, the My Menu block will be on the top left of your page. CLICK HERE to create a new account.
**Some optional features such as voting may not be available on your site or only for certain content or users. Contact your Channel Administrator at help@mashcast.net
